| Summary |
Femtosecond Stimulated Raman Spectroscopy (FSRS) powerfully advances time resolved structural studies of chemical and biochemical reaction dynamics due to its unique time and energy resolution. The technique has been successfully applied to a number of interesting photochemical processes, including the ultrafast isomerization of the visual pigment, Rhodopsin, excited state proton transfer in green fluorescent protein and electronic state transitions in the charge transfer dye, (Ru(bpy)32+). These studies have demonstrated the ability of FSRS to resolve rapidly evolving structural changes in a variety of ubiquitous chemical processes.
